Hiking is a fantastic workout for burning calories and often you can even forget completely that you are technically exercising.
Skip the Old Town for 3 hours and wander off with us up to the top of a mountain Srdj through the paths known only by local people and are rarely visited by tourists!
Srdj is the mountain that rises above Dubrovnik Town and it is 412 meters high. As you climb to the top of Mount SrÄ‘, stunning views of the walled town below open to you with a panorama of the whole coast stretching as far as the Pelješac peninsula to the northwest. At the top, there is an old military fort built during the Napoleonic wars at the beginning of the 19th century. Nowadays it is used as a Museum of the Croatian war for independence.
Afterward, hike to another part of the mountain through the paths known only by local people and mountaineers. The hike continues with a descent down the north-west side of the mountain which gives you a beautiful view of the new port (port Gruz) and the Elafiti archipelago. The path is well marked but rocky, so a pair of harder trainers or hiking shoes are necessary. The whole hike is 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) long.
Besides all, we can show you our favorite place for collecting the tea herbs while watching the end of the day's sun's rays as they fade into the horizon.
